Courtney's CT scan shows air around the front of the right lung. Doctors will insert a 2nd chest tube to drain that area of the lung. They are hopeful that this will allow Courtney to breath much easier and make her way off the vent.
The rest of the CT scan results were good - great news! Thank you St. Bernadine!!
Courtney is doing a great job today breathing on her own with only support from the ventilator.
She rested comfortably and continues to be very comfortable with the arm splints that keep her arms from tensing up and having muscle spasms.
Katy and Claudia are back at school studying hard for final exams. It is very courageous of them to leave Courtney. I know Courtney cried when I told her they were leaving but she would be the first to tell them not to let this stand in the way of them successfully finishing out the semester. We are very proud of them.
