Courtney has taken some breaths above what the ventilator is doing for her. Although the ventilator is doing most of the work this is a good sign. She continues to respond to stimulus including our voices. Courtney's maternal grandmother's name was Rita. She did a project on St. Rita some years ago. There was a prayer she found as part of that project that Auntie Debbie located:
Dear Rita, model wife and widow, you yourself suffered in a long illness showing patience out of love for God. Teach us to pray as you did. Many invoke you for help, full of confidence in your intercession. Deign to come now to our adi for the relief and cure of Courtney. To God, all things are possible; may this healing give glory to the Lord. Amen
