11/23 - Mom's Update

It is Sunday morning and Courtney has been very active this morning. She is pilling at tubes and hands that are working on her.

She is very close to folowing commands like 'lift yor knee". Although her eyes are not open she does follow voices when her eye lids are lifted. We and the nurses believe she is very close to opening her eyes. The waking up process can be quick or slow taking time for the patient to open eyes follow voices. begin to speak. etc.

Tomorrow Courtney will start therapy where staff will do things to help wake her up like having her hold the toothbrush while someone brushes her teeth.
The more things Courtney does that stimulate memory of normal activities the faster she will come out of her fog.

One of the nurses suggested we get a cell phone for her!!!
I am so grateful to the staff here who have let me participate in her care. I know Courtney would want me to help.

We are telling Courtney she needs to wake up so she can start telling everyone what to do. We know that once she becomes truly aware she will be motivated to get going!
Your prayers are working and yet she has a long way to go. Let"s keep praying her back to us so that "our joy may be complete".
