Courtney was fitted with braces today for her arms and hands that allow her muscles and joints to relax. She is resting comfortably today and doing well breathing with little help from the ventilator.
Doctors have decided that they will do a catscan on her lungs today since they believe her lungs should have healed better by now. Her oxygen level is good despite the pneumonia but overall her lungs should be expanding better.
The CT will show if the pneumonia is worse than suspected or if the hole in the right lung requires surgery.
Moving Courtney comes with risks and so there will be a doctor, nurse and respiratory therapist traveling with her today. Please pray for a safe 'journey' to and from the 2nd floor of this building for the CT.
We are fervently praying that she does not need surgery and that God will provide speedy recovery of her lungs so that she can get off the ventilator.
And of course, we are praying that Courtney wakes up soon.
For those who are familiar with and would like to pray along with us we have a very special Christmas novena:
Hail and blessed be the
hour and moment in
which the son of God was
born of the most pure
Virgin Mary, at
midnight, in Bethlehem,
in piercing cold. In that
hour vouchsafe, o my God,
to hear my prayer
and grant my desires,
through the merits of our
savious Jesus Chris, and
of His bless Mother
Amen.
(It is believed that whoever recites the above prayers fifteen times a day from the feast of
St. Andrew Nov. 30th until Christmas will obtain what is asked)
We will let everyone know the results of the CT scan as soon as we can.
