Courtney is very active today. She sat at the end of the bed today and nurse Donald picked her up under her arms and let her feel her feet under her. With very shaky legs and full support she 'stood'.
People are asking 'is she still in a coma?' The answer is yes. There is a glaskow coma scale - you can google it- that rates an individuals level of consciousness. Courtney's score is still very low because she is not following commands and makes noise or speaks.
Courtney did make a couple of squeaks this morning after the trachea was 'corked'.
With the trachea corked there is air flowing and she is breathing through her nose and mouth with some oxygen in her nose. Courtney's vitals are very solid with this important change. The staff and Craig and I keep telling Courtney that she can talk now in case her brain is ready to do that.
Her progress these past 2 days have been tremendous. We feel more encouraged with each passing day and pray for her continued healing and speedy full recovery.

I am so happy to see the tremendous strides that Cortney continues to make.
It is had to really imagine what you and your family must have gone and continue to be going through but reading Craigs letter really gave me a better insight into the challanges you all must have faced. Having three daughters myself Craig's letter to Courtney really touchedme. It is easy to tell from your daily updates and Craig's comments what a close family you are. I am sure it is also why Courtney is fighting so hard to be back to 100% so that her mom and dad can fully enjoy can enjoy her wonderful personailty.
Stay strong. We will keep praying.
Diane and Craig ~ Thank you for sharing with us. I'm just one of soooo many people that are out here praying for Courtney and for your family. With reports like this I go from praying to outright cheering her on... GO COURTNEY!
With much love, and constant hope for progress, from Karen's sister Maureen

Hello to Courtney from the Laffeys.
We have not stopped praying for you and missing you. The girls keep asking if you can come home from the hop-sital yet. We are so thrilled that you are making such great improvements and are very anxious to say to them that 'Yes! Courtney is coming home from the hop-sital!'
We are very sad to be away from home where we cannot visit you and pray for you in person, but we are still praying for you constantly and you are in our thoughts. (...and we can share our "Pray for Courtney" cards all over MS & TN!)
Every time I see your smiling face at the beginning of the blogsite, I cannot believe all that has happened. None of it makes sense to any of us. You are such a strong presence in so many lives and that you will be awake and smiling again very soon is what we are all praying.
Hugs to all the Hollingworths.
We love you.
